Development of the Network “Beautiful villages of Cyprus”

The Network “Beautiful Villages of Cyprus” belongs to Axis 4 – LEADER of the Program of Rural Development 2007-2013. The Network Management Group consists of representatives of approved Local Action Groups (LAGs), which implement local programs of LEADER in the intervention regions. The LAGs consist of the Larnaca District Development Agency LTD, Development Agency of Paphos Aphrodite, Development Agency of the Troodos region, and the Limassol District Development Agency LTD.

The Project Management Team has already initiated outreach activities for the Network and its 20 members (Municipalities and Communities) in print and electronic media in Cyprus and abroad. The photographic coverage of the regions was recently completed, at the same time the website of the Network is being developed (www.beautifulvillages.com.cy) along with the organizing of a drawing contest for students. In the near future, we expect to create routes and comprehensive proposals to visit the villages of the Network, print a guide, organize press visits to villages, conference etc.
