Agrotoepixeirein - Ecoperiigites
The launching meeting for the programs Agrotoepixirin and Oikoperioigites took place on the 13th – 14th of October 2011 at the offices of Larnaca District Development Agency.
The meeting attended representatives of the Development Agency of Heraklion, the Commercial and Industrial Chamber of Larnaca, Lesvos Local Development Company, Paphos District Development Agency and the Municipality of Arhanon – Asterousion.
These projects were approved under the Cross-Border Program - CBC Greece - Cyprus 2007 to 2013.
The overall objective of the Agrotoepichirin Program is the development and support of entrepreneurship in rural areas, with specific areas of interest the agro-tourism services for food and shelter, the processing of agricultural products and the production of local traditional products.
The Program Oikoperioigites envisions an innovative approach towards the exploitation of environmental and cultural resources aiming for quality, competitiveness and the sustainable development of rural areas. The program aims to create a network of routes which will highlight the natural and cultural environment of the areas of Larnaca.
Finally it is worth mentioning that the next meeting will take place in February 2012 in Heraklion Crete.
